Persons Crimes
Item # L-25864-22 armed robbery 600 Block of N. Scott 12/27/22 2:30 pm; this story given to the officer is convoluted. The victim stated he and his roommate went to reclaim his bike that was in the possession of a subject he only knows as “Slick.” When the arrived at the location of occurrence they came into contact with 3 W/M, including “Slick.” During the interaction one of the males told “Slick” to give the bike back. Apparently the victim did retrieve the bike. While the bike was in the victim’s possession another white male produced a weapon and took the bike back. Apparently all left the scene with the exception of the male who told the other male to give the bike back. The victim told the officer he knows none of the 3 subjects, including “Slick.”
Item # L-29790-22 murder 401 N. Carrollton Avenue 12/31/22 11:00 am; a group of 4 suspected B/M juveniles were committing/attempting to commit vehicle burglaries. At some point all 4 were inside the vehicle they were using as transport. For some unknown reason a weapon one of the burglary perpetrators had discharged and shot their driver in the head. It should be noted the 3 remaining perpetrators fled that vehicle which crashed. They then car-jacked another vehicle to escape the scene. At this time the Homicide Division is investigating this as a homicide since the perpetrators are not in custody and their investigation has not been completed. The car-jacking is included in the homicide investigation.
Item # L-29905-22 aggravated assault 4200 block of Tulane Avenue 12/31/22 1:00 pm; this was another weird incident and the report doesn’t state why the two were at this location. The victim notified the officer he got into an argument with his ex-wife’s current husband about his (the victim’s) children being around the current husband, calling the current husband a pedophile. The incident escalated to a physical confrontation and somehow the perpetrator gained possession of the victim’s bag which contained a handgun, removed the handgun from the bag, and pointed it at the victim. The weapon was not discharged. The perpetrator then fled the scene with the victim’s weapon in his vehicle.
Besides the violent crimes you can see the vehicle thefts were scattered throughout Mid-City, looking at the complete district maps for both the 1st and 3rd Districts this was an issue.
