Persons Crimes

Armed robbery 11/6/22 (64-G) (K-05473-22) at 3300 Block of Conti Street 10:30 am.  The victim was walking to her home when two B/M subjects (likely juveniles) drove up in a black Infinity, one subject exited with a weapon and demanded the victim’s money.  The victim handed over $8 and the subjects fled in the vehicle.  There were no other descriptors available at this time, no license plate although I’m pretty sure it’s stolen.

Attempt armed robbery 11/9/22 (27/64G) (K-08955-22) at Baudin and S. Cortez (500 Block of S. Cortez) 9:44 pm.  The victim was walking when a B/M subject run up behind him in a ski mask, handgun in right hand and demanded his wallet.  The victim was pushed to the ground and a tussle ensued, after really brief tussle the perpetrator fled without the victim’s property.  The victim pursued the perpetrator briefly, who then fired a shot at the victim, the victim then retreated and contacted police shortly afterwards.

As you can see from the map there were 8 vehicle thefts, the vehicle thefts are outpacing the vehicle burglaries.  Remember to check people hitching cars and tow trucks when you see this, you don’t have to handle as a vehicle check necessarily, we can use the citizen contact route to confirm nothing criminal and explain to tow truck driver or citizens afterwards.  I listed some information on each vehicle theft below.
