Item # D-21823-26 4/21/26 10:28 pm 3200 Block of Iberville Street (homicide by stabbing);  The victim was found outside his residence with a knife wound to his chest.  The crime occurred inside the residence; however, the victim was found outside the residence.  The victim was rendered aid by officers and EMS on scene, later transported to UMC where he was pronounced deceased.

Item # D-23974-26 4/23/26 8:40 pm 2700 Block of Toulouse Street (aggravated battery by shooting);  This incident involved a disturbance between three individuals at the gas station located at 617 N. Broad Street, one female and two males who likely know each other.  As one vehicle was fleeing the area the male victim jumped on the hood of the vehicle, the vehicle  begin evasive maneuvering causing the victim to fall from the hood and hit his head on the street.  The victim is still hospitalized in intensive care.  Because the incident was initially labeled as a shooting it will stay a shooting for the time being, however, this incident may not involve a shooting.  The head injury may have been received from the victim’s head impact to the street.
