3801 Canal Street 9/20/26 9:44 am carjacking;  The victim was preparing to park when she observed two male subjects casing the parking lot appearing to possibly commit vehicle burglaries.  The victim contacted a co-worker but did not initially park.  She lost sight of the subjects, felt comfortable parking, parked and then exited her vehicle and proceeded to retrieve items for her vehicle.  At that time, the subjects re-appeared demanding her vehicle, with one subject grabbing his waist.  The victim complied and the perpetrators fled with her black 2017 Kia Sorrento La tag #917EGX.  1st District Detectives cleared this case by arrest.

4000 Block of Tulane Avenue 9/21/26 2:15 am homicide;  It appears there was a heated argument between two individuals inside Elara Nightclub, one subject exited, and the second subject exited the club a short time later.  When the second subject exited, the first subject who exited was still on scene.  The incident quickly re-escalated with both retrieving firearms and there being an exchange of gunfire.  During the gunfire one female bystander was struck, and the second subject who exited (and also shooting), was stuck several times in the stomach area and was pronounced dead at UMC. An arrest was made in this crime.
