Crime Map – January 21-27, 2024

There were three violent or person crimes reported last week listed below:

Item # A-19033-24 1/21/24 (aggravated battery by shooting)@4733 Banks Street;  The male victim decided to have a female who was residing at his residence leave and take her property.  That female had another male come to the property to assist her with moving those items and at some point a disagreement started over which property could be taken.  The unidentified male who came to the residence discharged a gun he had in his possession at the front door of the residence.  That fired round went through the door and struck the victim who was transported to UMC for the injury.  

Item # A-22054-24 1/24/24 (aggravated assault)@600 Block of N. St. Patrick Street;  The male victim and his girlfriend had a gathering at their residence, at some point the male victim and his brother-in-law were engaged in an argument that escalated to the brother- in-law pulling a weapon on the victim inside the residence.

Item # A-22227-24 1/25/24 (aggravated battery by cutting)@3402 Tulane Avenue (Goodwill parking lot);  During this incident the known homeless male victim was in a friend’s vehicle (which he was in possession of) in the parking lot, the victim sleeps in the vehicle overnight at the location.  Another male subject only known to the victim as “D” approached the victim in the vehicle and engaged in a brief conversation before “D” attacked the victim and started a fight.  The fight continued outside the vehicle on the ground and escalated to the point “D” pulled out a kitchen knife that was in his possession and struck the victim several times to the body.  Law enforcement was flagged down by bystanders, however “D” had already fled after the attack occurred taking the vehicle the victim was sleeping in.    The victim was transported to UMC in stable condition to be treated for his injuries. 

Thefts:

230 N. Broad Street (Dollar General) had two shopliftings both involved arrests

3017 Toulouse  Street was a package theft

3700 Orleans Avenue (American Can Apts) was a package theft from the mailroom of the building

1/27/24 7:30 pm 3700 Block of Orleans Avenue (attempt auto theft) 2022 Kia Forte

Shots fired:

1/21/24 12:26 am St. Ann and N. Solomon GOA

1/24/24 10:07 pm 500 Block of S. Pierce Street GOA
