Persons Crimes

Item # A-21455-23 armed robbery on 1/22/23 12:18 am in the 100 Block of N. Murat;  The incident involved three victims (females) and 2 observed B/M’s (suspected juveniles.)  The victims exited the street car to walk to their residence, as one victim attempted to open the entry lock with her key it broke.  The key breaking delayed their entry.  As they were standing, they were approached from behind by the perpetrators who demanded their property.  One victim was struck with a weapon.  The victims gave up their property and the perpetrators fled the scene.  Like last week, it appears these perpetrators were involved in additional robberies uptown and the French Quarter.  One subject was identified and arrested, he is a juvenile.  The second perpetrator hasn’t been arrested as of the time of this e-mail.  It’s unclear if he was identified.  The arrested subject was arrested days later after he was identified by one victim via a BOLO release by the Department, pertaining to another robbery.

In reference to property crimes, the vehicle thefts are continuing to be the major property crime issue for Mid-City and the City as a whole.  As you look at the map, you will see they are scattered.  There were four on Sunday alone at 4:25 am, 10:00 am, 8:57 pm, and 9:35 pm.
