Persons Crimes
Item # A-14791-23 1/15/23 1:20 am 300 Block S. Hennessey Street stabbing; the victim allowed a friend to stay with him approximately two weeks. On the date of the incident the victim requested his friend leave his residence. After the request, the incident escalated to an argument, then the perpetrator retrieved a knife, stabbing the victim twice in the chest. The victim was hospitalized and the perpetrator fled. It was not domestic and the victim is expected to recover.
Item # A-14789-23 1/15/23 1:25 am Palmyra and S. Murat Streets attempt armed robbery; the victims were exiting their vehicle when they were approached by two B/M’s in a dark sedan. The subjects had firearms, requested the keys, one victim refused and was struck with the gun. The injured victim did need transport to the hospital. I suspect the perpetrators weren’t expecting that resistance and fled without property, due to that resistance and injuring one victim. It should be noted these subjects had committed several robberies that night, most in Uptown New Orleans, but two in the 1st District. They were identified and arrested for all those robberies and are juveniles.
Item # A-16483-23 1/16/23 11:38 pm 3327 Tulane Avenue (Shell) aggravated assault; the victim (store employee) observed a hooded subject loitering around the store, approached the subject and requested they leave. Upon approach and after the hoodie was removed, he observed a B/F who retrieved a weapon from her waist pointed it at the victim and threatened to shoot. Afterwards the female fled and the victim contacted police.
Item # A-17091-23 1/17/23 2:00 pm 4100 Block of Ulloa Street sexual assault; the victim is a juvenile female who made the allegation she was being sexually assaulted by her stepfather at her home.
Auto thefts are the most reported crime, I’m noticing an uptick in shopliftings/thefts at Walgreens and stores in the Bienville/Carrollton corridor.
