There was a reported attempted kidnapping in the 500 Block of S. Norman Francis Parkway on 1/5/26 8:43 pm.  All involved parties had limited English proficiency, so Officer Valencia translated.  The father was walking with his kids when he allowed one child to lag behind.  A H/M subject later identified as Gustavo Adolfo Flores Alvarez proceeded to pick the child up, the father quickly observed and confronted the subject and demanded he release the child, after an argument the perpetrator was restrained and detained until police arrival.  The subject made a statement about using the child as a shield for a sniper and other statements that were curious.
