Item # C-12603-23 3/13/23 2:30 pm (aggravated assault)@3400 Tulane Avenue;  the victim was talking to her niece in the block when she was approached by a female acquaintance who started a heated discussion about a past hostile incident between the two.  During the exchange the female produced a knife and threatened the victim, she then fled the scene.  The perpetrator was known and placed wanted for aggravated assault.

Item # C-14288-23 3/16/23 1:40 am (armed robbery)@200 Block of S. Alexander Street;  the victim, a security guard, was sitting outside 229 S. Alexander when he briefly did a foot patrol.  When he returned and re-entered his vehicle, two B/M’S appeared, one with a gun against the window demanding his property and vehicle.  The victim’s vehicle a 2004 Toyota Tundra license plate # Z154051, black in color (VIN# 5TBRT34134S439952L) was taken along with personal items, including wallet, jacket, GPS, cellphone and tablet.  

Item # C-16274-23 3/17/23 9:30 pm (sexual assault)@3400 Block of Tulane Avenue;  the victim (adult female) stated she was sexually assaulted by her father’s friend.

Auto theft is the most prevalent overall crime, we had 64 total auto thefts as of last week.  The total is lower accounting for those re-classified due to being towed or re-possessed but with that it’s still our most frequent crime.
