Crime Map – March 22-28, 2026

Item # C-26748-26 3/27/28 3:30 pm aggravated battery @336 S. Norman Francis Parkway;  The victim went outside to confront a next-door neighbor about yelling and profanity.  The incident escalated to a physical fight, an unloaded gun was retrieved by the perpetrator and the perpetrator hit the victim in the face several times with a child foot scooter.  The victim had to be treated for facial injuries.  The perpetrator fled the area after the incident and doesn’t appear to be a tenant known to the property owner.  As of this time he’s not been identified by name, but I expect he will be soon.  I will share that information as soon as DIU confirms. 

Item # C27788-26 3/28/26 3:00 pm car-jacking @300 N. Broad Street;  The victim was seated in his vehicle in the rear parking lot of Whole Foods with his door open, on break, when a B/M subject approached on foot with a handgun, demanded he exit the vehicle, took the victim’s phone and fled the area.  The vehicle was recovered 3/28/26 9:30 pm at N. Villere and Congress in the 5th District.  The perpetrator was described as wearing a blue and grey Nike Tech outfit. The stolen/recovered vehicle was a 2021 Kia Telluride. 

Item # C-00000-26 3/28/26 12:30 am sexual assault @2700 Block of Canal Street;  The incident didn’t occur at that location, however the victim contacted police to report domestic violence, while speaking with officers she stated her ex-boyfriend committed a sexual assault against her in the past.

Burglaries:

3/23/26 8:30 am 100 Block of N. Anthony Street *residence burglary* (multiple pieces of jewelry)  the victim suspects his ex-girlfriend is the perpetrator based on hazy video footage

Thefts:

3/26/26 8:00 am 211 S. Lopez Street (pin iPad A16 serial # 358382811168574 stolen from student’s book sack)

Shots fired:

There were no shots fired reported last week.

3/22/26 3:15 pm 500 N. Carrollton Avenue (alcohol)

3/22/26 1:00 pm 4001 Canal Street (alcohol)

3/25/26 11:10 am 230 N. Broad Street (baby care products)

3/28/26 8:40 am 500 N. Carrollton Avenue (one gallon ice cream)
