Item # C-05950-23 (armed robbery)@649 N. Broad (Autozone) 3/7/23 8:06 am;  The wanted subject B/M entered the store and was observed shoplifting items, the perpetrator was approached by store employees and upon their approach the perpetrator displayed and handgun tucked in his waistband.  The perpetrator fled the location in a black BMW which was parked in the lot of store.

Item # C-06823-23 (armed robbery)@230 N. Broad (Dollar General) 3/8/23 7:08 am;  The arrested subject entered the store through the unlocked front door which the manager left closed, but unlocked for other employees’ entry.  The arrested subject (B/M 28 years old) entered the store brandished a weapon and received $1,650 in currency.  During the robbery the manager hit the silent alarm.  Several units including Mid-City unit 170 (Sgt. Raymond Young), who was the first on the scene, and Unit 127-D (Officer Laron Stewart) quickly responded and the subject was arrested during flight through the Whole Foods parking lot by both.  The arrested subject was in possession of store property and was arrested without serious incident.  He was a convicted felon for robbery.  

Outside of the robberies, which are significant, we had a relatively low number of crimes this past week.
