Item # K-13072-22 aggravated assault 2707 Orleans Ave. 11/14/22 12:20 am. The victim drove to the store with her boyfriend, upon arrival the boyfriend entered the store while she waited inside the vehicle. As she waited a B/M subject approached her vehicle pointing a weapon at her, she immediately fled the location for her safety and later contacted her boyfriend, picked him up and reported the incident from her home. The incident was verified via crime camera footage observed by the reporting officer. There was no statement made to the victim, she simply quickly cleared the area.
Item # K-13110-22 murder 900 Block of N. Carrollton Ave. 11/14/22 2:10 am. The victim was found shot to death near the intersection of Dumaine and N. Carrollton Avenue, the victim did have a vehicle and apparently drove to the location, however the vehicle was not on scene. The victim’s mother was told her was going to a party, there was no known party in the area. It’s my speculation he likely made contact with someone (likely social media/internet) who he met at the location, they likely requested they meet there and he was possibly set up. When I spoke to homicide they had no specifics.
Item # K-13068-22 aggravated assault 300 Block of N. Murat 11/14/22 12:23 am. The victim was involved in an argument with her boyfriend in their residence when the male placed a loaded weapon against his head, while positioning his head against the victim’s head and insinuated taking both their lives via shooting. This happened before 3rd District Officers observed a vehicle driving erratically and they conducted a traffic stop, the vehicle stop and they learned there was an argument going on with the driver (male) and passenger (female) that caused the driving. The victim told officers what had occurred earlier and the male subject was arrested. He was also prohibited from possessing a firearm due to criminal convictions.
Item # K-15882-22 aggravated rape 4000 block of Tulane Ave. 11/14/22 7:51 pm. As of now I have no information on this since Sex Crimes handle and their reporting system is not EPR, I will get back with you all on this.
Other notes, seeing a bit of an uptick of vehicle burglaries and thefts around the Tulane/Carrollton Avenue corridor.
