Item # K-18445-23 car-jacking (David and Iberville Streets) 11/20/23@12:30 am. The victim a B/F was seated in her vehicle after leaving the Wit’s Inn intoxicated, attempting to sober up before driving. At 12:30 am she was awaken by a B/M who knocked on her window with a firearm, pointing the firearm at her and demanding her vehicle. A second subject demanded and took possession of her vehicle keys. The subjects fled against traffic on Iberville Street. The subjects were described as young B/M’S, approximately 18 years old of age, wearing all black with hoodies with the hood up, slim build, brown skin, approximately 5’8” and clear shaven. The victim’s vehicle is described as a black 2014 Kia Optima La tag # 503EZC.
Item # K-20571-23 homicide (300 Block of S. Norman Francis) 11/22/23@9:50 am. The victim B/M was found with a single gunshot wound to the body in front of 300 S. Norman Francis. The victim had recently been evicted from the residence and had been in conflict with remaining tenants, apparently walking back and forth on the day of the murder and instigating arguments. It’s likely the victim was in an argument before being shot and possibly involved in a physical encounter. Several individuals I spoke to on the scene stated the subject was aggressive and appeared to have a mental health issue. There were no shots fired calls that preceded the call of a man down, which was how the call was received.
Both Friday and Saturday nights Mid-City was slammed with vehicle burglaries in the 3700-3900 Blocks of Tulane and 3700-3900 Block of Ulloa Streets, the businesses Blue Diamond (Pressure) and Vandal were the target areas.

There were two shots fired calls received during the week: 11/24/23 9:00 pm in the 3200 Blk of Banks St. (RTF) and 11/25/23 10:20 pm at 4133 S. Carrollton Ave. (GOA).
