In reference to the stolen vehicles that have been occurring, when observing suspicious activities and vehicles being towed get out and speak with the person towing the vehicle.  Let them know we have a rash of vehicle thefts and you want to check just as a courtesy to the citizens.  There is a chance some of these vehicles are being towed away.  There were two arrests made of subjects who were attempting to tow a vehicle away by Miranda and Jones in Mid-City last week.

There were 12 vehicle burglaries scattered throughout Mid-City during this week.

Last night we had a 27/64G (K-08955-22) at Baudin and S. Cortez (500 Block of S. Cortez) 9:44 pm.  The victim was walking when a B/M subject run up behind him, handgun in right hand and demanded his wallet.  The victim was pushed to the ground and a tussle ensued, after really brief tussle the perpetrator fled without the victim’s property.  The victim however pursued the perpetrator who in turn fired a shot at the victim, the victim then retreated and contacted police shortly afterwards.
