There was an aggravated battery by cutting in the parking lot of the Goodwill location this morning at 5:00 am.  During this incident the known homeless male victim was in a friend’s vehicle (which was in possession legally) in the parking lot, the victim sleeps in the vehicle overnight at the location.  Another male subject only known to the victim as “D” approached the victim in the vehicle and engaged in a brief conversation before “D” attacked the victim and started a fight.  The fight continued outside the vehicle on the ground and escalated to the point “D” pulled out a kitchen knife that was in his possession and struck the victim several times to the body.  Law enforcement was flagged down by bystanders, however “D” had already fled after the attack occurred taking the vehicle the victim was sleeping in.    The victim was transported to UMC in stable condition to be treated for his injuries.  At this time details of why the attack happened are unclear, due to the victim not giving a lot of information on the scene and his current hospitalization.
