Attempted auto theft perpetrator caught in the act was arrested at 1 a.m. in the 200 block of S. White.
Citizen flagged down a passing officer and the perpetrator was caught red handed inside the vehicle. He had a gun on him and was slumping down in the driver seat trying to avoid being spotted by the passing officer. The car window had been smashed and the steering column defeated.
